after pulling this absolutely one of a kind piece out of the dye bath, it reminded me of the photos at the SOHO website, where you can get a detailed view the sun’s radiant activity realtime – especially the red images from the EIT / extreme ultraviolet imaging telescope (something i’ve enjoyed watching for around 16 years!)… check it out by clicking here!
found this shirt at a second hand shop – great cut, nice logo-free transparent orange buttons, excellent condition, in a bright orange that was just a little *too* bright… it had an obnoxious and uncomfortably scratchy tag in the neck, so i carefully took out the seam, removed it and restitched the neck, and then added my own organic cotton and hemp blend hand signed tag to it (very comfy and unnoticeable)… sewed the tag with bright red thread, and then did some freehand embroidery all around the collar, in geometric lines embellishing the already pointed style
finally, it was hand dyed with a low water immersion method, using low impact fiber reactive dyes in two shades of red… shirt has been washed with all natural biodegradable detergent, dried, and pressed… hand signed / dated hang tag is attached with hemp twine, and is made of 100% post consumer recycled paper, printed with veg-based inks… also has a spare button discreetly sewn onto the inside of the front
size medium – with a 38″ bust, 39″ hips, 23″ sleeves, being 16″ across shoulders, and 24″ long – this is made to fit snugly and would look awesome on someone with a fuller figure! also, it looks better in person than in photos – reds and deep oranges are very difficult to photograph!
